James Crown served as president of the family-owned investment firm Henry Crown and Company.
Crown served on the boards of Sara Lee, General Dynamics, and JPMorgan Chase & Co.
He served as the Aspen Skiing Company’s managing partner as well.
Crown, who turned 70 on Sunday as well, was killed in a single-vehicle collision at Aspen Motorsports Park in Woody Creek, Colorado, after colliding with an impact barrier.
